Pumpkin Patch Time at MDRGC

By Cathy Hough, general manager and buyer

It’s time to grab the kids, pile into the car and head on over to see us! In what has become a fun tradition, the Marina del Rey Garden Center once again has its very own Pumpkin Patch loaded with every pumpkin imaginable, from Wee Bee Little to Big Max!

Head in today to take photos and pick your carving pumpkin! (Below) Much to his delight, this youngster has plenty of bright orange pumpkins to choose from.

(Below) This little guy is being amused by one of our Groan Sticks, found inside the store with lots of other Halloween goodies, including Trick or Treat bags, Pumpkin Carving Kits, Glow in the Dark Necklaces and Pumpkin Seed Roasting Kits.

You really must venture into our Pumpkin Patch to catch the spirit of the fall season! Our straw bales are for sale and add a fun authentic touch to a fall party.

It takes at least two people to carry a jumbo-sized Big Mac pumpkin. We also have Cinderella, Fairy Tale, white and blue pumpkins!

(Below) Tucked into our Pumpkin Patch are several fun “photo opportunity” seating areas.

(Below) Pumpkins and gourds are great for decorating.

(Below) Our Carving Kits sell out quickly so be sure to grab one when you’re here.

(Below) Go ahead, have a seat!

Be warned when you enter our Pumpkin Patch because you never know what might be lurking around the corner!

Indeed, fall is for fun and we have plenty of that right here in our Pumpkin Patch! Bring the kids, the neighbors, the neighborhood and step into fall in the best possible way. (Below) This young boy had a great time finding the pumpkin he wanted.

Our Turtles Are Back!

(Above) Our ever-popular life-like turtles were sold out. It took them awhile to get here, but they’ve completed their long swim and are finally back! Stop in to say “Hello” and take some home with you.

Artistic, Modern Fountains, Statuary, Benches and Chocolate Mimosas

By Cathy Hough, general manager and buyer

Distinguish your landscape or home with a contemporary fountain, like the one below.

The artistic flair found in Campania’s Cast Stone Collection (below) comes from Pennsylvania, where their designers and craftsmen create and manufacture this sleek and sturdy line. We’ve just received a new shipment that includes The Precipice (below, center with water flowing) as well as the taller statuesque fountains to its rear.

Campania offers statuary, benches and containers. The Sphere Fountain (below) is surrounded by some of Campania’s finest friends, frogs.

(Below) Chocolate Mimosa trees add a grace and beauty to another cylindrical fountain design. We have limited availability on the Chocolate Mimosa, so if you think you’d like one, stop in today.

(Below) More of Campania’s unique designs

(Below) Roger and CJ help a customer with her purchase. Be sure to ask one of our gardening experts for advice on what to use when you plant. Planting with the right soil amendment can make all the difference!

(Below) There’s no time like Buddha time! Stop in and take a moment to visit the spaces of tranquility in our garden.

(Below) The stunning Chocolate Mimosa tree features a wonderful brown and bronze foliage and is small enough to plant in spaces. It is a small to medium size tree when fully grown and can be planted in containers, making it a fine specimen for patios, balconies, entryways and the like.

(Below) These containers, while looking like their concrete counterparts, are one-third of the weight of their contemporaries, making them ideal. They are available in black and a natural greyish concrete look.

We do offer delivery, however, if you’ve got the wheels (below), we’re more than happy to help you load up.

Our Talavera pottery collection is always growing, with new finds and new additions. This sweet little guy (below) needs a home. How about yours?!

Hardscape Materials: Boulders, Rocks, Stepping Stones, Pebbles, Decorative Rock, Pavers

Hardscape materials (above) enhance the beauty of a garden or landscape in a natural way. Stones, pavers, boulders, rocks, pebbles–each provide a natural continuity and can be used as an accent, pathway, border or container.

Our demonstration area (above and below) was created to show a few of the ways natural hardscape elements can be used in a garden landscape. Ask Steve, Roger or CJ for assistance. They can answer all of your questions and provide guidance and direction.

Our selection of hardscape products includes stepping stonesboulders, stone, pebbles and exotic materials.

Oro Verde rock boulders (above)

(Below) We carry and stock an assortment of decorative rock in a variety of color shades, shapes and sizes, sure to spark an imagination or two.

(Below) Inside our store you’ll find more garden accents. The polished rocks below can be used as accent pieces to add sparkle to fountains, bird baths and planters.

Have fun with how you use small rocks and pebbles.

(Below) The love birds on this fountain are enchanted by the addition of beautiful blue pebbles to their bathing area.

(Below) Use your imagination to let loose and do something creative in your home or garden with our stone/pebble collections.

(Below) We’ve created a dry river bed using Arizona rock. Ask Roger, Steve or CJ for assistance with our new hardscape materials.

(Below) Golden Onyx boulders have lots of striation in them. Stop in to see their distinguishing characteristics and learn more about how to use them in the landscape.
